One of the early supporters of the fledgling women emancipation movement in India, who worked closely with Mrs. Annie Besant and Mrs. Margret Cousins. Was awarded the Kaiser-i-Hind and the Padma Bhushan, for her tireless work in social causes and education that focussed on women & child empowerment.
