Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall
In the heart of The Madras Seva Sadan's Chetpet campus is our pride and joy, the Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall, which is dedicated to the Founder – Justice Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao.
The brain child of Mr. C. Krish Kumar, great grand-nephew of the Founders; it was commissioned in February, 2008. It is a testament to the preservation and propagation of Indian arts and culture, while embracing diversity from around the world.
The Concert Hall Facilities
The fully furnished, 2600 sq.ft Concert Hall in the heart of the city is completely air conditioned. With close to 1200 member seating capacity, it also features a 200 person capacity black box experimental theatre with an outdoor performance area and 3 versatile training rooms.
Additionally, the Concert Hall is one of the few venues that provides on campus car parking. The provision of ambulance and fire protection services, on standby, in case of any eventualities – makes it an extremely safe venue for all age groups.
What is special about The Concert Hall?
Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall is one of the first halls in the city, with integrated, exceptional audio-visual and lighting equipment manned by trained technicians. This makes the Concert Hall a versatile venue for performances of every scale.
It is also the stage for The Madras Seva Sadan's Founders Day productions where every student, gets to have the experience of performing on a grand stage.
The School Of Sound & Music
Cocooned in the Concert Hall, you'll find The School of Sound & Music. Established in January of 2019, aspiring musicians are empowered to hone their skills and explore the depths of their talent, while also providing them a platform to showcase their artistic talents
