Community Impact In Arts
Inspiring culture and transforming society, through the arts
As passionate patrons of Art & Culture and accomplished artists, the Founders organised multiple city-wide cultural programs.
As a result, it was logical for the institution to create a space to showcase these programs leading to the construction of the Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall.
The Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall, is a state-of-the-art auditorium with seating for 1200 people in air-conditioned comfort. It features a 2600 square feet stage, with cutting edge audio-visual equipment that makes it a versatile venue for performances of any scale, including The Madras Seva Sadan’s own Founder’s Day celebrations.
The concert hall has been responsible in bringing world famous artists and musical groups from across the world to India and Chennai.
Some international shows include performances by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and The Julliard School, in addition to countless plays and musicals by Indian national artists.
Additionally, the Concert Hall also hosts the School for Sound and Music, a place where artists and musicians are nurtured in the creative and technical aspects of music.
