Community Impact In Sports

The founders (and many of its governing body members) have been active and ardent sports persons with interests ranging from swimming to tennis, to athletics and motor racing. Their passion has inspired many students from the Madras Seva Sadan schools and has resulted in students participating and winning competitions all over India.

Today, more than ever, sports play an integral role in shaping lives and providing newer career opportunities.

As a result, The Madras Seva Sadan has significantly invested in developing focussed sports programs, along with world-class sporting infrastructure, across all its campuses: most notably in Swimming, Cricket, Basketball, Athletics, Volleyball, and Football.

The Padma Bhushan Lady Andal Venkatasubba Rao sports festival is our own, immensely successful, annual contribution to inter-school competitions in the city of Chennai.

“ORCA”, is Madras Seva Sadan’s 25-meter, 6 lane swimming pool located in the Chetpet campus and plays host to many a state and national school championship.

More recently, “Garuda” our Cricket Academy has been churning out state level players. The Academy features a state of the art Turf cricket ground on our Tambaram campus, BCCI Accredited coaches, automated bowling machines, as well as multiple Astro- turf practice nets in all our training campuses. Free coaching is also being provided to the under privileged girls from our govt aided schools. The idea is to become the first school in Chennai to have an all-girls cricket team. The Sir Mutha School team did the institution proud by winning the TNCA under 14 championships in the city.

Always trailblazers, The Madras Seva Sadan has envisioned a state-of-the-art, high-performance multi-sports hub. This upcoming sports hub will be built over 1,00,000 Sq.ft and the aim of this hub is to provide the best coaches, trainers, and facilities in order to create and nurture future champions in various sports.

While these facilities will be made available to all our students for their co-curricular sessions it will also be provided to underprivileged students from The Madras Seva Sadan schools, for free.The upgradation in infrastructure and facilities has had an extremely positive effect in bringing in new admissions with parents of children with sporting aspirations. realising that their children now have a one stop facility which will take care of both their sporting and academic requirements.
